The village has its own stores, school and church. Here is a store complete with TV antenna. The white containers on the 'porch' are for clean water. Latter-day Saint Charities (LDSC) has helped install clean-water generators for floating villages. Our friends, Lynne and Craig Peterson, facilitated one such project when they served as humanitarian missionaries here. Clean water is a huge health issue for floating villagers who, for centuries, have used lake water for both drinking and waste disposal.
