We just finished Pchum Ben, a major holiday wherein most city-dwellers leave to visit their ancestral homes in the provinces, and we are looking forward to the annual (November) Water Festival wherein the city swells with visitors from the provinces.
Rains and floods are still hitting areas in Cambodia pretty hard. The Cambodia Daily headlined its weekend edition with "Flooding Subsides, but Death Toll Rises to 141". It reported that 17,000 families have been displaced and 61,000 hectares of rice paddy damaged. (A hectare is 10,000 square meters or about 2.5 acres.)
The work of the Mission moves forward, and we daily hear of miracles in the lives of members and missionaries.
