Happy New Year (Rikriay cho chnam thmei) everyone!

We ended the old year with a two-day mission conference celebrating the birth of Christ, and contemplating what special gifts we might give to our Savior in the coming year. Then we started the new year with a nice meal with friends and listening to the sounds of the Khmer people enjoying a night of music and fireworks.

Cambodians love to celebrate so this is a grand time of year for them. First they celebrate the International New Year (Jan 1), then the Chinese New Year (begins Feb 3), and then the Khmer New Year (begins Apr 13).

The following five photos are a potpourri of daily life in Phnom Penh. We hope everyone is well and healthy and ready to face the challenges and joys of 2011.
